UNIQUE SPECTRONIX COMPANY HISTORY
1983
Founding of Unique Spectronix Inc. Began distribution activities delivering passive and active electronic components, laboratory testing equipment and chemical reagents to Korea Office of Supply, Electronic & Telecommunications Research Institute, Seoul National University and Korea Department of Defense.
1985
USI began appliance components export business with Samsung Electronics after Samsung acquired OEM business from GE to make Over-the-Range (OTR) devices.
USI awarded with contracts for air filter, door glass, door handle, switch, thermistor, and heating element.
1987
USI began appliance components export business with LG Electronics after LG acquired OEM business from Whirlpool to make Over-the-Range (OTR) devices.
1989
Began concerted Cost Innovation (CI) efforts to reduce Samsung and LG’s overall production costs.
1990
Collaborated with Samsung and LG Electronics in development and launching of Induction Oven.
1993
Supported R&D of LG and Samsung by coordinating efforts with GE, Whirpool and Electrolux. Began supplying monogram logos to GE.
1995
Helped Daewoo Electric with their outsourcing project for their OTR microwave line. Helped Tong Yang Magic with their outsourcing project for their small electric oven line.
Began supplying door glass and air filter.
1996
USI awarded distributorship of appliance and construction window glasses from PPG.
1997 ~ 2002
Continued R&D, CI activities.
2002 ~ 2004
Awarded exclusive distributorship within US for Samsung vacuum cleaner. Organized domestic sales & marketing activities.
2005
LG Electronics launched new Electric Oven line. Helped procurement efforts.
2008
LG Electronics launched Gas Oven line. Helped procurement efforts. Helped with procurement efforts of Samsung Electronics for newly launched Electric Oven line.
2011
Helped with procurement efforts of Samsung Electronics for newly launched Gas Oven line. USI awarded prestigious Presidential “E” Award under Barack Obama administration for outstanding contribution to US economy.
